🔬 Adobe Research Scientist Intern

Summer 2025 📍 Seattle, WA

An incredible foundational experience! Currently working as a Research Scientist/Engineer Intern in Seattle, WA with my amazing mentor Jane Hoffswell. I'm developing a multi-agent LLM framework to help practitioners create effective visualizations.

🪂 Skydiving Journey

Aug 2025 📍 Snohomish, WA

The highlight of my year! This was a long dream, a true bucket list item. After experiencing paragliding and bungee jumping, I finally took the leap from 13,500 ft! I love to challenge myself from time to time with adventurous sports and activities.

Highly recommend the jump if you're interested! The folks at Skydive Snohomish are the best - highly trained, professional, and absolutely sweet. 🙌

🏔️ Mt. Rainier Adventure

July 2025 📍 Mt. Rainier, WA

As a Community Intern Captain at Adobe, I had the amazing opportunity to take our interns on an unforgettable trip to Mt. Rainier. We conquered the Skyline Trail - the longest trail there - and made it all the way to the top!

It was incredible to share this experience with such a talented group of people and see everyone push their limits together. 🚀

👨‍🏫 Teaching Experience - 6.67/7

Fall 2024 📍 Introduction to Visualization

Grateful to my advisor Dr. Alvitta Ottley for this incredible teaching experience! I scored 6.67/7 (Department Average: 6.11/7, School Average: 6.18/7) for co-instructing "Introduction to Visualization."

My teaching journey started during undergrad with several TA experiences in Computer Science, Physics, and Mathematics courses. I genuinely love helping students - often extending sessions when needed and learning alongside them. Students have been an incredible source of learning and guidance for me.

This time, I created course materials, facilitated interactive sessions, and taught data visualization including data wrangling, D3.js, design guidelines, what makes good vs. bad & ugly visualizations, perception, prototyping, and helped students complete final projects creating interactive visualization dashboards for social good 🌍💧🏭.

I'm always looking to improve my teaching and make myself available anytime (sometimes even at midnight!) to help students succeed. The best moment was when I was waiting for chai ☕️ at a campus cafe, and a student approached me to thank me for the course - they said it was their favorite and even helped them land an internship using their final project! ✨

📊 American Institutes for Research (AIR) Doctoral Student Intern

Summer 2024 📍 Remote/Washington, DC

A transformative research experience! Although it was a remote internship, I was grateful to be in Washington, DC for a week for orientation. I worked with amazing mentors Brittany Boyd and Cadelle Hemphill (both are wonderful and sweet people) on creating interactive tools to help Grade-8 teachers investigate student performance on Math scores.

🔬 How I Got Into Visualization Research

August 2021 📍 WashU Beginning

The beginning of my PhD journey! During my final year at Beloit College, I was fortunate enough to have both industry job offers and graduate school acceptances. I wanted to pursue a PhD regardless of what I was choosing. Being a first-generation college student in my family, education was always given preference.
